So glad this European & Natural Wine Bar / French Bistro is in my cozy Fernwood neighbourhood. It is a Victoria must. Happy hour 4-6 is such a great deal but the French-inspired food is well priced, in general. Also generally open late. Check hours as they change with the season. Best Burgers & Fries ever, but also the hand made pasta, beef tartar & steak are go-to’s. The veggie dishes are always made from the most local and fresh ingredients. The bread is freshly baked and comes with rotating, European cheeses. The staff go above and beyond, every single time, and the owner & the chef are always offering creative long table events. If you aren’t impressed by their ever-changing wine list, which includes low intervention and natty wines among other European and local winemaker stars, they have amazing cocktails. This local neighbourhood restaurant is a gem. Victoria is lucky to have Stage.

Came here with a friend based on a recommendation, and we had an absolutely amazing time. Not only is the wine list interesting and checks all the boxes, but it's also really fairly priced. The food was equally impressive. We got a bunch of lighter dishes (brie, cured meats, tartar, bread, stuffed olives) and they were great, then the sable fish blew us away. Desserts were also delicious. Service was top notch. Jordy took great care of us to start, and his recommendations were spot on. Listening to him describe wines and tell their stories was a pleasure. We then moved to the bar where we had some great conversation with Jody while she mixed drinks for the whole restaurant. If I lived in Victoria I'd be here every chance I could get. Instead, I'll just have to send all my friends here and make a point of visiting again as soon as possible!

Amazing service, atmosphere, beverage and to top it off food. We had a great spread of appetizers, mains and desserts paired with similarly great drinks. Highly recommended for people who are looking for something different but still close to downtown Victoria.

Having been disappointed by many over-rated and over-priced Victoria restaurants, I was delightfully surprised by Stage. A friend chose the restaurant for her birthday dinner, and I arrived with no expectations. What I found was a staff who were warm and welcoming, very knowledgeable about the continually changing menu and wine list, attentive yet discreet, and not at all snobby but also happy to opine in detail and at length with suggestions and recommendations. Each wine recommendation was spot on. We chose the Sunday Dinner prix fixe menu, which was excellent value. Each course was delicious, fresh, complex but not inaccessible, and thoughtfully composed - and generous in portion size! I also appreciated the special edition Chartreuse, which made for a delicious digestif. I'm looking forward to a return visit soon.

Great little wine bar. Stopped in for a night drink. Nice atmosphere, didn’t get any food but I’m sure it would be an awesome summer patio wine spot.

Wonderful place for excellent, inventive good and great wine. Our server was extremely knowledgeable on the wine and very attentive without being obtrusive. The focaccia was too good, the housemade pasta was scrumptious, salad was savory.

Came here for my birthday dinner on a recommendation from a friend and had one of the best meals of my life. We ate every single bite, had a great experience, tried a few new things and left full. What more could you ask for? We had a really great, knowledgeable and passionate server as well. Great music too! Keep up the great work guys. This was a real treat and worth every dollar. Compliments to the chef and the entire staff

We had a lovely meal, consisting of 5 dishes and all were excellent. In particular, we were really impressed with our wee Irish waitress, who was not only very knowledgeable and helpful, but really charming as well. We will be back!
